Who we are
“Small & Steady”, “we” and “us” mean the business that runs this website and sells its guides. You can reach us at hello@smallandsteady.com.
Buying a guide
Purchases are processed by Fourthwall, which acts as our checkout and delivery partner. Its terms apply to the payment and delivery process. The price shown on this site ($49.99 for The Toddler Play & Conversation Plan) is a one-time price. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout. Because a guide is a digital download that you keep as soon as you buy it, all sales are final. See Refunds & access for what to do if a file is faulty or doesn’t arrive.
Gifts
You can buy the plan as a gift. You give us the recipient’s name and email address, the day you want it delivered and, if you like, a short note. On that day we email the recipient once, with your note and their download links. We use the recipient’s details only to deliver the gift. A gift is a digital product, so all sales are final, but if the email doesn’t arrive or something needs changing before the delivery day, write to us and we’ll sort it out. The recipient gets the same licence as any buyer.
The free sample
The free sample is a PDF of selected pages that you can download without giving us any information. It’s for your own personal use. Please don’t repost, resell or share it publicly as if it were your own.
Your licence
When you buy a guide, you get a personal, non-transferable licence to download, keep, print and use it for your own household. You’re welcome to share it with the people who help care for your child, such as a partner, grandparent, nanny or sitter. You may not resell it, post it publicly, upload it to file-sharing sites, or use it in a paid course, class or business without our written permission. We keep all copyright in the guides, text, illustrations and design.
Educational information only
Our guides and website are general educational information for parents and caregivers. They are not medical, psychological, speech-language or other professional advice. They don’t diagnose, treat or assess any condition, and they aren’t a substitute for your child’s pediatrician or other qualified professionals. Every child develops differently. Always supervise your child during play, bath time and meals, and use your own judgement about what is safe and suitable for your child.
The research we describe shows general findings, often averages or associations. We don’t promise any particular result for your child.
Updates
We may update a guide to fix errors or improve it. When we do, we aim to make the updated version available to existing buyers, but we can’t promise future updates indefinitely.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website or guides, and our total liability to you for a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that can’t be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you buy applies to your purchase.
