About
Small moments, done steadily.
Small & Steady started with a simple frustration. There’s a lot of advice about young children, and very little of it tells you which few things matter most.
Parents of toddlers are not short of ideas. Feeds, apps and well-meaning relatives supply hundreds of them. What’s missing is a clear place to start: the handful of everyday habits that research keeps coming back to, written plainly enough to use on a normal day with a real child.
That’s what we make. Each guide is built from published research and public-health guidance, filtered hard for what fits real family life, and designed to be used on a phone in the middle of bath time as easily as it reads at the kitchen table.
What we believe
- Small beats big. A thirty-second back-and-forth at breakfast, repeated, is worth more than an elaborate activity you do once.
- Steady beats perfect. Missed days are normal. Moments that go wrong and get repaired are normal. There’s no score to keep.
- Honest beats impressive. We say what research shows and what it doesn’t, and we never promise outcomes no guide can deliver.
- Everyone who cares for a child counts. Partners, grandparents, nannies and sitters are part of the plan, not an afterthought.
What we make
Our first guide is The Toddler Play & Conversation Plan, for children around 18 to 30 months. Guides for the months before birth and for the first 18 months are in development, and we’ll only release them when they meet the same standard.
